Building a house in Colorado?* If you're planning to build in or near the Rocky Mountains, consider selecting a contemporary mountain home floor plan. A contemporary mountain home plan would typically sport rustic curb appeal, a modern, open interior layout, up-to-date amenities, and large windows. Note that--whether you prefer a contemporary mountain home floor plan or a more traditional layout--picking a plan that sports big windows and airy outdoor living spaces is almost always a plus, assuming your lot enjoys sweet views of the surrounding landscape. What's more, consider choosing a Colorado house plan that features a mudroom in which umbrellas and snowy/dirty clothing can be stored, as Colorado weather is known for being rather fickle.
*This collection may include a variety of plans from designers in the region, designs that have sold there, or ones that simply remind us of the area in their styling. Please note that some locations may require specific engineering and/or local code adoptions. Be sure to check with your contractor or local building authority to see what is required for your area.
