Guess what? Farmhouse is our best-selling house design style! Two-story farmhouse plans are typically appreciated by home builders who desire a separation of spaces. A more traditional farmhouse floor plan might feature all (or most) bedrooms upstairs. Families with small children often appreciate this type of layout, as it allows parents to easily tend to their children's needs during the night. Some people also simply feel more secure having all bedrooms together, upstairs. A more modern interior design will feature the primary suite on the main-level, with the secondary bedrooms upstairs. This type of bedroom arrangement can work well for parents with teenagers. Some two-story modern farmhouse plans even feature a loft upstairs, along with the secondary bedrooms, which can be used as a TV or game room by older children. Seeking a more rustic look?
