SAVED!
If your home's garage needs to be big, this is definitely the place to start your house plan search! The majority of barndominium plans feature an extra-large garage or shop, but some don't. Some barndo designs simply feature a regular garage (or no garage at all), but still maintain the look and feel of a barn. Below you will discover our curated collection of barndominium floor plans with shops.
Fun fact: house plans with shops are called shouse plans (shop + house). Seriously. It's a thing. And because these plans present shops (or extra-large garages), most of them will also feature an impressive wraparound porch, as this helps to balance the look and feel of the home. Lofts are also commonly found in two-story barndo designs, and modern open floor plans can typically be found in both one and two-story layouts.
Consider this: a big garage doesn't have to mean a big home. In fact, you'll find a variety of sizes below, from tiny to luxury. Take Note: For house plans, we define total square footage as total heated square footage (i.e. the garage is not included). To see the square footage of the garage (shop), click into the product detail page and scroll down to review the details of the design.
While the term barndominium is often used to refer to a metal building, this collection showcases mostly traditional wood-framed house plans with the rustic look of pole barn house plans. Some barndo designs below do feature metal framing, so review the product details carefully, and call us with any questions.
